While Carnival’s Cruise Vacation Protection Plan does have a Pre-Existing
Condition Exclusion, Carnival’s plan is quite liberal. The Pre-Existing
Condition Exclusion precludes refunds only for those medical conditions that
manifest themselves, became acute, or were being treated within the within the
60 days before the plan is purchased.
You may have a chronic condition requiring that you take medication and still
be protected by the plan. Only if the condition is unstable and/or if there
has been a change in the required prescription will your condition be
considered “pre-existing”.
In other words, unless you, your traveling companion, or family members
traveling with you have a new medical condition or one that recently “flared
up”, or you have had a change in your required medication, the plan should
provide protection. Please see the Plan Description for complete details or
contact BerkelyCare, the plan administrator at 1-800-331-2796 if you have any
questions regarding this exclusion.
Best of all, Carnival offers CRUISE CREDITS!!! As an added service to its
valued clients, Carnival Cruise Lines offers future cruise credits to guests
who are denied a cash refund for their trip cancellation due to the
Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion. Carnival Cruise Credits are available only
to guests who have purchased the protection plan.
