It’s no secret I love a good craft cocktail. So when I boarded Carnival Glory and looked over their cocktail menu I was in HEAVEN!! There are several amazing drinks to choose from. There is a bar on Carnival Glory called the Alchemy Bar. It has a really cool atmosphere – old school vintage pharmacy turned into craft cocktail bar. I found myself here a lot, the bartender’s are incredible mixologists. If you wanted to venture something off the menu they can whip up something tasty for you, no problem! By the end of my trip I finally decided which Carnival cocktail was my favorite, the Caribbean Manhattan! Want to try it? You can make it yourself! My bartender, Richard, kindly gave me a tutorial.
THE CARIBBEAN MANHATTAN
- 2 oz Rye Whiskey
- 0.75 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 0.75 oz Spiced Brown Sugar Syrup
- 2 Dashes of Bitters
Add all ingredients in a shaker with ice and stir with a bar spoon for 30 seconds. Strain into chilled martini glass.
I also asked Richard what was the most POPULAR cocktail on the ship. (I was curious what other people were ordering). He told me by far, the most popular drink of the week was the Cucumber Sunrise. Which actually was my second favorite!!!!!
CUCUMBER SUNRISE
- 2 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 oz Watermelon Syrup
- 2 Cucumber Wheels
- 0.75 oz Orange Juice
Put two cucumber wheels into an empty pub glass and muddle it. Add all the ingredients into the glass, add ice and cover with the shaker. Shake it for 5 seconds, double strain into a chilled glass. (Strain into the glass through the fine strainer after passing through regular strainer).
