It’s so fun to reflect on vacations, especially when you can share the fun with your friends and loved ones. A few months ago, my boyfriend and I set sail on the Carnival Sunshine. There are so many highlights from this trip. The best way for me to share them are in photos, right here and now!
Our cruise took us to the Eastern Caribbean, where there were plenty of sandy beaches and turquoise waters. We embarked the ship in Charleston. This was a highlight in and of itself. This is one of my all time favorite cities. We ate our share of oysters and I shopped for plenty of cruise fashions while there.
I love all the history and vibrant colors in this town…
I did mention there was an abundance of oysters, we ate them as often as we could!
The three ports of call we visited were each were beautiful and unique in their own way.
We rode bicycles and swam in the warm ocean in Grand Turk. It was gorgeous!
I spent a lot of time on our balcony reading magazines, listening to the waves and looking for dolphins… of which I saw a few swimming alongside the ship.
Cruise Fashions
I love shopping for my trips, whether the dress code is for a winter retreat or a fling in the sun. For the Caribbean, I favor tropical prints and lots of embroidery on crisp cotton.
On Board Dining
We enjoyed the many dining options onboard the ship. A few favorites included the Steakhouse where I had my share of this tomato salad & plenty of perfectly grilled filet mignon!
The Seaday Brunch is fantastic, especially after a night of seeing the live shows and music. My favorite breakfast on the menu is the Huevos Rancheros…
The Chef’s Table
Go behind the scenes and learn all about these epic kitchens at The Chef’s Table dinner. Meet the Master Executive Chef and indulge in an elegant, multi-course meal.
How beautiful was this meal?!
Love this side-by-side soup presentation.
Stunning duck dish.
Halibut.
A dessert medley that was to die for!
Inspired Recipes…
Here’s my recipe versions of what we enjoyed both on and off the ship…
Huevos Rancheros is a classic Mexican dish. Loved by kids and adults.
Vegetable Hakka Noodles was my favorite dish at JiJi Asian Kitchen, the Asian fusion restaurant on the ship. This buttery noodle dish is off-the-rails delicious!
Dominican Pollo Guisado is a very popular dish in the Dominican Republic and is now a favorite of ours too; the olives make it extra tasty.
In Half Moon Cay, Bahamas, we chowed down on this seafood rice dish…it was unbelievable!
