Sweet Tooth

It’s no secret I have a HUGE sweet tooth. I enjoy many things but desserts are at the very top of my list! When I recently sailed to the Caribbean aboard the Carnival Magic I was astonished with the limitless options of desserts. I went a little nuts and indulged myself with some of the yummiest sweets I’ve ever had.

I started the trip off with a piece of chocolate cake from the Plaza Cafe; rich, dense, and delicious. It tasted great with my iced latte!

Eating at the Southern Lights Dining Room every night was exciting. Not only was the dinner menu different but the dessert menu had new options as well. Here are a few of my favorites starting with the famous Carnival Melting Chocolate Cake, which I HIGHLY recommend!

Another restaurant option on the ship is “Cucina del Capitano.”  It’s pure Italian heaven! I’ve been to Italy and have become a bit of a “tiramisu snob”. This tiramisu literally melted in my mouth. I was SO impressed with the amount of flavor… it really felt like I was back in Rome! The cake was layered in a glass with mascarpone creme, and served with lady fingers soaked in espresso liquor. Chocolate ruffles completed the masterpiece.

“Sorbetto Al Limone” Lemon sherbet finished with chocolate twigs and fresh mint. So delicious!

Lastly, strawberry soft served ice cream. Open 24/7 and you better BELIEVE I took full advantage of it!
