Travel less than 10 miles to the neighboring city of Kinderdijk, where you’ll have the pleasure of seeing original windmills from the 1500’s – 19 of them, in fact. One of them is open to visitors and many are still functional. A UNESCO site since 1997, the beautiful windmills are lit at night in September, which is called “mills in floodlight” – and makes for a great photo opportunity.
