
UTV Adventure: Depart the pier by motorcoach and head for Base Camp, home to your UTVs and knowledgeable guides. Experience the thrills of off-roading through jungles and farmland as you reach the impressive Altun Ha Mayan Ruins.
Mayan Ruins: Discover the Altun Ha Archaeological site, renowned for its Temple of the Sun God and the treasured jade head of Kinich Ahua. Nestled near the port, this ancient Mayan city includes two plazas and 13 structures. Your adventure starts with a visit to the Museum, where you'll delve into the rich history of this ancient Mayan city followed by a visit to the temples.
What’s Included:
Accessibility: Tour is not accessible. Guests must be able to take steps (up/down) to get on/off the vehicles and at the venues and walk short distances over uneven surfaces.
Requirements & Restrictions: Closed-toe shoes required. A valid driver’s license is required. Maximum weight - 250 lbs. Minimum age to participate on the tour is 13 years. For safety reasons, pregnant women and guests with back or neck injuries may not participate on this excursion.
What to Bring: Comfortable clothing, sun lotion, insect repellent, sunglasses, credit/debit card or cash for additional purchases. Additional set of clothes to change after the tour if desired.
Good to Know: Tour departs by bus to base camp where the group will be split in two smaller groups. One half of the group will start by driving the UTVs to the Mayan Ruins while the other half will continue by bus. Groups will swap at the Mayan Ruins for their return to base camp. Guests are not allowed to take video footage or use drones at Maya sites and cannot climb ruins before or after rain for safety reasons. Guests may get dirty. UTV units are two and four seaters.
