Rancho Carisuva: Embark on a journey to a unique beachfront Baja ranch that offers ecological outdoor adventures with horses, goats, and friendly donkeys. This eco-tourism park actively promotes the protection of species, the conservation of the beautiful ecosystem and support groups such as the Turtle Camp Carisuva and the Burro (Donkey) Foundation.
Horseback Experience: Enjoy a horseback riding tour in an eco-tourism ranch with 42 horses that live in complete freedom. This route starts in a natural oasis and continues to a spectacular Pacific Ocean viewpoint (where you can spot whales when in season) and ends by passing next to a turtle nesting center. Don’t forget your camera as you discover spectacular ocean side cliffs, lush desert ranges, private untouched beaches and canyon trails.
Free Time: Relax at the ranch facilities while you enjoy the ocean view, take a leisure stroll on the beach and explore this typical Baja Californian ranch with horses, goats and friendly donkeys. Learn about on-site Burro Rescue Foundation that rescues feral and abandoned burros, providing them a sanctuary while offering an educational experience for visitors.
Turtle Release (available seasonally): From August to mid-December, guests may participate in a fun, educational hands on experience by taking part in releasing baby turtles back into nature.
Requirements & Restrictions: Minimum age to participate – 8 years. Maximum weight – 250 lbs. Closed-to shoes are required. For safety reasons, pregnant women, and guests with back or neck injuries and heart conditions are not permitted on this excursion. Helmets must be worn while horseback riding.
What to Bring: Park entrance is not included in the cost of the tour. Payment of $10, per person, is required for admission. Bring cash or credit/debit card for purchases. Long pants are recommended.
Good to Know: There is a 35-minute scenic journey via a van, one way, to the ranch. The horseback riding experience is approximately 2 hours.
