This panoramic drive takes you on a scenic discovery through the lush green countryside of the Emerald Isle. As you begin your drive and pass Cork Harbor, you will see the fine residences that line the banks where the harbor becomes the River Lee. You’ll then travel eastward through fertile farmlands to reach Youghal (pronounced Yawl), a seaport with medieval origins. A photo stop will be made at this pretty coastal resort, which was chosen as the setting for a famous shark film in the 1950s due to its resemblance to a New England fishing port. Next, you’ll continue northward through the Blackwater Valley and West Waterford, where you’ll arrive in the heritage town of Lismore. There will be an opportunity for you to photograph the magnificent Lismore Castle, a residence of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, which towers over the River Blackwater. Afterward, you will have free time in Lismore to shop for souvenirs, relax with a drink or simply absorb the atmosphere of this historic little town.
