Chacchoben Mayan Ruins: Join a journey to the ancient place of Mayan pilgrimage known today as Chacchoben, “The Place of Red Corn”. Join your guided tour through the ruins located deep in the Mayan Jungle and learn about the sacred temples and other structures seen there as well as great information about this ancient civilization. See original red paint on the stucco walls of one of the pyramids and the temple where a mural was found showing the astronomical positions of the planet Venus.
Climb Basamento Temple: You will have the privilege of climbing the Gran Basamento Temple. Here, archaeologists found ceremonial offerings dating to around 1,000 B.C. Explore temples I and II for a breathtaking view of the jungle from above the treetops.

Total time exploring the ancient Mayan civilization is approximately 2 hours. This is a moderate-intensity activity and involves a fair amount of climbing and walking over uneven surfaces.
