Madeira Cook Experience

Welcome to Old Town, Madeira, where you’ll see a new showcase, “Arte de Portas Abertas,” and begin your tour at the local market. Make your way to the area’s Armazem do Mercado (Market Warehouse) to begin your Madeiran Cooking Experience. Local chef Luisa Freitas, whose passion is everything food, will show you how to cook a traditional Madeiran dish with a modern twist. Luisa created the Madeiran Cooking Experience with her sister Mafalda after winning the II FN Kitchen Team Cup in À Descoberta do Talento — Rota das Estrelas (The Discovery of Talent — Route to the Stars) and placing 3rd in the competition. Freitas is also owner and chef of a restaurant in Funchal called Entre Amigos (Between Friends), where she experiments and develops new recipes, flavors, and ways to cook. Learn to cook the Madeiran way while having fun doing it!
