The shrine was built at the end of the 6th century. The 16-meter tall red torii (archway) that stands in the sea in front of the shrine is its symbol. At low tide, you can almost walk up to it. The main shrine, oratory and stage are linked by a covered gallery. Its sublime beauty preserves the image of the Heian Period (794~1191).
