Make the most of your time ashore in this full day tour, showing you the most important sights of Hiroshima.

Reputed to be the home of the gods, Miyajima will be your first destination on this full day excursion. Sailing across Hiroshima Bay, you’ll be able to see the Itsukushima Shrine, which lends its name to the island. On arrival, you will have approximately two hours to enjoy the delights of this sacred place.

Browse for souvenirs along the main arcade, where traditional wood turned items are an island specialty as you make your way towards the Itsukushima Shrine. The shrine was built at the end of the 6th century. The 16-meter tall red torii (archway) that stands in the sea in front of the shrine is its symbol. At low tide, you can almost walk up to it. The main shrine, oratory and stage are linked by a covered gallery. Its sublime beauty preserves the image of the Heian Period (794~1191).

You’ll head back to Hiroshima in time for luncheon in a local hotel, where you can relax and refuel before your afternoon of exploration begins.

The Atomic Bomb Dome is the instantly recognizable symbol of peace. It’s here at the Peace Memorial Park, dedicated to the victims of the first atomic bomb attack, that you will explore the moving and sometimes harrowing museum. The most emotive tribute here is the Children’s Peace Monument, where thousands of colorful cranes belie the soulful tale behind them.

Exploring the gods, shrines and soulful reminders of the past, this tour will deliver the best that Hiroshima has to offer.
