Your tour begins with a scenic drive through the Norman countryside, heading inland to Rouen. There, you’ll begin your walking tour through the old section of Rouen, down narrow, cobbled streets lined with timbered houses, some dating from the 15th century. Continue down the bustling Rue Saint Romain to the Rue du Gros Horloge and you’ll see the Gros-Horloge, the city’s great 14th-century clock, which is housed in a Renaissance arch. It is one of the oldest clocks in France. You’ll then be able to see the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral, a superb example of French Gothic architecture that took 300 years to complete. Next on your itinerary is a photo stop at the historic Place du Vieux Marché (Old Marketplace), home of St. Joan of Arc Church. After your tour, you’ll have an hour of free time to explore the city center on your own. After a well spent day in this beautiful city, you will head back to the ship.
