Enjoy this guided walking tour and discover the city of Porto, Portugal, including Flores Street and the Ribeira quarter. Porto, also known as “Oporto" and “Granite City” because most of its buildings were made using local granite. The trade and industry center, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest city. This excursion will take you into the heart of the city, which boasts a grand appearance in contrast with the surrounding lush, green vegetation. You will ride your motor coach to Cordoaria, at which point you will begin your guided walk through the labyrinth of streets in the city’s center. You will view Clerigos Tower, designed by the architect Nicolau Nasoni; and once the tallest structure in Portugal. You will continue on to see the neo-Gothic Lello Library, considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Then, you'll walk over to Aliados Avenue and then São Bento Railway Station, one of the city’s grandest structures created by Jorge Colaço. Its walls contain over 20,000 beautiful tiles portraying the story of Portugal, its transport history and the Battle of Aljubarrota. Moving on, your stroll will continue along beautiful Flores Street. Once flooded with luxurious mansions and goldsmiths and starting to decay, Flores Street has been renovated and is now filled with beautiful buildings lining the street and flowing into the Ribeira district. Once there, you’ll have some free time to explore on your own and enjoy the great views of the Douro River, spanning Rabelo boats and several bridges. When your tour is over, you’ll return to the pier.
