Cahuita National Park: A day at the beach, hiking natural trails with a little shopping thrown in for good measure, what could be better! At the Cahuita National Park you can don your swimsuit and take a dip in the refreshing Caribbean waters, or simply bask on the beach and enjoy the view. Cahuita is famous for its pristine beaches and bountiful rainforest and is considered by many to be “the jewel” of Costa Rica’s Caribbean region. The biodiversity will amuse you! The sloths, if you catch a glimpse of one hanging from an ancient tree, is sure to raise a chuckle or two at the sight of its seemingly perpetual smiling face.
Cahuita Village, Restaurants and Shops: Change into dry clothing and walk to the local restaurants where you can purchase refreshments and snacks. Explore the shops to appreciate the handicrafts made by local artisans, and pick up a special reminder of your day at Cahuita National Park before returning to your ship.
What’s Included:
Requirements & Restrictions: A waiver for each participant must be signed to be able to enter the beach. You will only be allowed to swim at the designated “Green Flag” area. Always follow the guide’s instructions. For safety reasons, guests with mobility difficulties may not participate on this excursion.
What to Bring: Beach towel, water, hat, insect repellent, sunblock, sandals, or comfortable walking shoes, change of clothing, bathing suit, and a fanny pack to carry valuables.
Good to Know: Do not leave valuables unattended on the beach. Guests must be able to take a few steps and walk short distances. Cahuita National Park does not offer lounge chairs, umbrellas or towels.
