Begin your journey with a visit to Pumpkin Bottom, where you can meet and experience a day in a local farming community. Learn the rich history of how sharecropping began in Jamaica, and the wealth of crops they produce currently.
Connect: Interact with the local people of this farming community and learn about their daily chores, and processes on the farm. You will be encouraged to select and help harvest local vegetables and fruits that will be part of your Jamaican cooking demonstration.
Blue Hole Estate Great House: Once all this beautiful fresh produce is collected, make your way to the rustic ruins of the Great House to indulge in a taste, touch, and smell experience like no other. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a refreshing drink of a lemongrass iced tea to sip while being guided through the history of the Great House. Fully immersed in the natural surroundings of the ruins, prepare to be delighted with your local chef's knowledge, cooking methods, and uses of the produce harvested from the farm.
Feast: Finally, dig in and sample all the wonderful flavors. When your appetite is satisfied, enjoy the beautiful views from the Great House before your guide transports you back to our seaside location where your journey began. Spend the rest of your day relaxing in the gorgeous infinity pool, or by the seaside lounge area. This culinary day will be the highlight of your vacation, an authentic cultural experience to be remembered for a lifetime.
