Flavors of Jamaica Cooking Tour

Yaaman Adventure Park: Enjoy a scenic drive along Jamaica's beautiful coastline to Yaaman Adventure Park, one of Jamaica’s oldest estates owned by Sir Harold Mitchell where a warm Jamaican welcome awaits you from your hostess who will greet you under the great Mahogany Tree which was planted by Sir Winston Churchill in 1953.

Garden: You will be escorted through the beautiful ornamental garden where you will see a wide variety of herbs and tropical plants such as the Cat Whiskers, Plumbago and the Canon. At the end of the garden path experience an awesome panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea!

Great House: Then it's off to the verandah of the historical and majestic Great House that was once a fort, where your senses will be tantalized by the different herbs and spices to be used in the cooking exercises.

Chef “Irie”: Each person will have their own workstation with a clear view of the Chef ‘Irie’ as he instructs and guides you in the preparation of the Yaaman Special Blend Jerk Sauce, knead your own dough for the Jamaican Festival and preparation of the Callaloo for steaming. All of these preparations are for following sumptuous Jamaican cuisine: jerk chicken, festival, white rice, and steamed callaloo (similar to spinach).

Lunch: After learning how to prepare these delightful meals, enjoy your authentic Jamaican lunch which will consist of your own jerk chicken.
