Cultural Experience: Visit a Greenlandic home and hear the story of the host’s life in the Arctic. Kaffemik is a Greenlandic tradition you must experience. It takes place when the locals are celebrating a special event or a milestone, such as birthdays, first school day, newborn or someone’s confirmation – but the real enjoyment comes from each other’s company, while tasting Greenlandic cake and pastry. This tour provides a personal exchange with a Greenlandic host. The host(s) will welcome you to a typical traditional Kaffemik, or also known as “Kaffillerneq”, directly translated to “serving coffee”. The host speaks about their life, culture and the pictures on the walls. The Greenlandic national clothing will be explained and showed as well. It is an amazing opportunity to get up-close to the national clothing and learn about how it is made and used.
