Enjoy a 45-minute snorkeling adventure, discovering the natural wonders of the sea in San Juan’s Escambrón Marine Park. Put on your gear, follow your guide and snorkel in close proximity to several schools of tropical fish, such as the blue tangs, damselfish, yellowtail snappers, sergeant majors and green and hawksbill turtles that live in the protected bay. Participate in a fun fish-finding game, learning to identify Caribbean fish as you glide over the historic ruins of the underwater Fish Protection Wall; see the beautiful statues and Roman columns in the “lost city of Atlantis”; and learn about the over 200 Taino reefs that create more habitat for marine life. After snorkeling, participate in an exciting walk through the park to the historic Escambrón Battery, a fort built in 1771 to protect the walled city of San Juan from potential threats, such as pirates and rival European powers wanting to take the valuable lands from Spain. After the tour, you’ll return to your ship.
