Scenic Drive: Learn the history of Seward, the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park, and its railroad town beginnings as you depart the dock. Pass the historic downtown district filled with quaint shops, the bustling fishing marina where hundreds of white masts and hulls line the docks, and mile after mile of railroad track laid out along the rugged Chugach Mountains. Head north along the Seward Highway, which officially holds triple designation: USDA Forest Service Scenic Byway, Alaska Scenic Byway, and All-American Road. Watch for Kenai Lake, Moose Pass, Snow River, Paradise Peak, and Portage Valley.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center: Visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where animals unable to survive in the wild find refuge in spacious habitats. Here, you can safely get close to, observe, and photograph some of Alaska’s largest land mammals, including moose, bison, bears, and musk ox. This is a non-profit sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, education, research, and quality animal care. The sanctuary maintains over 200 acres of spacious habitats for resident animals to feel at home displaying their natural wild behavior as education ambassadors for their species.

Alyeska Resort and Tram: Travel to Alyeska Resort, the largest ski resort in Alaska and one of the premier resorts in the state. Enjoy a ride on the Alyeska Aerial Tram and take in panoramic views of Turnagain Arm and the surrounding valley from 2,300 feet above its floor. Enjoy lunch at the Bore Tide Deli with your choice of chili and soups, wraps, and sandwiches while taking in the view.
