Enjoy a visit to Tenerife’s Teide National Park, the largest park in the Canary Islands and a UNESCO World Heritage site and the most visited park in Europe. While there, visit Mount Teide, a massive volcano with the highest mountain peak in Spain. You’ll board your motor coach and travel north, ascending foothills cloaked with pine forests. The road travels along the mountain crest and offers panoramic views of the north and south. You'll head for El Portillo, the entrance to Teide National Park which sits over a mile above sea level. Declared a national park in 1954, the park is home to a caldera, an enormous volcanic crater that's been dormant since 1909 and over 29 miles in circumference. The park is named after Mount Teide, which has the highest peak in Spain. The volcanic rocks found here are amazingly colorful as they contain black lava, red magna, and white pumice. The park road also frequently cuts through banks of bright green rock. Your tour will include several photo stops so you can capture the stunning scenery around you. When your tour is complete, you will return to port.
