Halfway between the sea and the mountains, the cable car of Toulon transports you from the upper town to the summits of Mount Faron at 500 meters of altitude, offering you an exceptional panoramic view of Toulon’s bay. From there, you’ll be able to see from Porquerolles to the “bec de l’aigle” (beak of the eagle) in La Ciotat. Enjoy the ride in the newly renovated cable car to the top. Your guide will give you an explanation on the site. Then, you’ll walk to the Landing Museum, devoted to the landing and liberation of Provence during the summer of 1944. The memorial was inaugurated by the General de Gaulle on August 15, 1964 to honor the memory of the men and women engaged in the operations of the landing and the liberation. You’ll learn a part of the history of Provence and especially of Marseille and Toulon. From the memorial you’ll also enjoy a magnificent view on the bay.
