A World Heritage site declared by UNESCO since 1988 and a Wonder of the World since 2007, extending over 6 square miles with hundreds of structures. Good to Know: Informative 2.25-hour bus ride to the ruins. This is an active excursion involving a lot of walking. The Mexican government charges a $5 fee for the use of video equipment inside the ruins (tripods, screens, or professional video cameras are not allowed). Guests are not allowed to climb on any of the ruins in Chichen Itza.
