Walking Tour of Mérida: Walk through the main plaza of Mérida, a beautiful example of colonial architecture mixed with local flavor. Your guide will lead you on a walking tour to see the 16th century cathedral, the oldest in Mexico. Only the Cathedral of Santo Domingo, in all of America, is older than the one in Yucatan. See the government palace, museums, and the central park.
Governor Palace: You can see from the distance this Palace, that currently houses the offices of the State Government, was built on the same site where the old "Royal Houses" were in colonial times, which housed the Yucatecan rulers as well as several of their main collaborators.
Montejo’s House: Walk inside on one of the oldest houses of the city. The house of the Montejo is a building built between 1542 and 1549 to be used by his family. The construction has been partially preserved to date. The Casa de los Montejo is possibly the only example in Mexico of a civil house built in the 16th century Plateresque style.
Salsas to Taste: Proceed to a downtown restaurant for a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn how to make authentic Mexican salsas using fresh ingredients already prepared for you. You will follow your guide’s instructions to prepare your own salsas, such as Chiltomate, Dzikilpak and Guacamole.
Margarita Madness Class: Your guide will show how to make three different authentic Mexican flavored margaritas, such as Jalapeno and Tamarindo. Plus, you will have the chance to taste them all.
Salsa Dancing: A dance instructor will show you how to step, sway and get into the groove of Latin America’s most famous dance, the Salsa! Follow step-by-step instructions and you’ll soon be ready for the dance floor.
