Once you arrive in Bruges, your guided half-day tour begins with a walk along the cobbled streets and around the historic Market Square, which is home to the historical guild halls and many other centuries-old buildings. Stroll past the Belfry, a huge bell tower that houses 48 bells, plus the impressive Town Hall and the 12th-century Basilica of the Holy Blood. Then, enjoy a scenic cruise around the city’s charming canals, which boast views of medieval and Renaissance buildings, many of which sit directly on the water. This intimate approach to the sights makes the cruise a great way to discover this amazing city. Afterward, take advantage of a photo stop at the 13th-century Church of Our Lady, home to Michelangelo’s white marble sculpture, Madonna and Child (exterior viewing only). Then, head to the Walplein and enjoy some free time to browse the shops for fine Belgian chocolates or Flemish lace. Or you can stop by a local cafe for some coffee or locally brewed beer.
