Hiroshima by Tram & Foot

Hop aboard a Hiroshima tram for a city walking tour and try one of the delicious local dishes.

Start with a narrated coach journey of the city sights before heading off on foot to the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. During your time here you will learn of the moments that led up to the world’s first nuclear attack, and the how the aftermath of this affected those who survived. For example, at the Children’s Peace Monument you will see the hundreds of colorful paper cranes sent by children all over the world in memory of a young girl who passed away from the effects of radiation.

Next, it’s time for a tram ride through Hiroshima, along its wide boulevards and bustling downtown streets. You’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, dedicated entirely to Hiroshima’s favorite food, Okonomiyaki, which is a popular pan fried food that consists of batter, cabbage, spring onions and selected toppings and ingredients such as meat, seafood and noodles are added.

Hop back on your tram for your final highlight, the Shukkeien Gardens. Valleys, mountains, and forests are represented in miniature form in the garden's landscapes. Through careful cultivation the garden mimics a variety of natural formations and scenic views, which will provide you with a serene last impression of Hiroshima before driving back to the pier.
