Details

Take a scenic, 30-minute drive to the Dumbea River. The indigenous flora contrasts with predominantly red soil and deep green hues of the river. The entire area is part of the "Réserve naturelle intégrale de la montagne des sources", a reserve set up to protect Noumea’s water supply. Once there, guides will provide a kayak, safety equipment and a brief lesson before you set off upstream. The only disruption to the tranquility of the river is the swish of paddles on a journey through one of New Caledonia’s prettiest valleys. Take a dip in the river before kayaking back downstream.
